Presented to the Joint Health Committee.

This committee was created pursuant to Senate Bill 13-082. The purpose of this committee is to oversee and review the prevention, mitigation, and financing of wildfire matters in Colorado.

In response to a growing number of human-bear conflicts in Colorado, the General Assembly passed House Bill 15-1034 calling on Colorado Parks and Wildlife, the agency responsible for managing all of the state's wildlife, to provide information regarding the growing number of human-bear interactions and conflicts throughout the state, and to evaluate all available management options to properly manage black bear populations year-round to address bear-human conflicts and public safety.

Pursuant to Article 98 of Title 37, Colorado Revised Statutes. The purpose of this committee is to oversee the conservation, use, development, and financing of Colorado's water resources. 

Pursuant to Senate Bill 13-082. The purpose of this committee is to oversee and review the prevention, mitigation, and financing of wildfire matters in Colorado. 

This year marks a milestone in tracking forest health and management in Colorado, with this publication representing the 15th annual report on the health of Colorado’s forests. Throughout this period, we’ve witnessed many landscapelevel changes across Colorado. The forces and circumstances that have come together – climate and weather events, insects and diseases, wildfire and human impacts – have contributed to dramatic changes in the age and structure of our forests.

Pursuant to Senate Bill 13-082. The purpose of this committee is to review and propose legislation or other policy changes related to wildfire prevention, mitigation, and related matters, including public safety and forest health issues. 

The General Assembly considered a variety of energy-related legislation during the 2014 session. The bills focused on changes to the renewable electricity standard, the Colorado Energy Research Authority, and enterprise zone investment tax credits.
