A Snapshot of Colorado Agriculture

As one of the top agricultural states in the United States, Colorado agriculture generates approximately $47 billion annually in economic activity. Agriculture in Colorado is made up of about 30 million acres of farmland, with approximately 36,000 different farm operations, employing more than 195,000 people. This issue brief gives an overview of agriculture in Colorado, including the Colorado Proud label, the wine industry in the state, and a map showing the economic value of agriculture in each county.

2024 Tobacco Master Settlement Agreement Forecast

Colorado receives annual payments from tobacco manufacturers as part of the Tobacco Master Settlement Agreement (MSA). In April 2023, the state received $93.1 million, which was used to determine distributions to MSA-funded programs for the current FY 2023-24.

CY 2024 for FY 2023-24 Supplemental Narrative

The Supplemental Narrative is prepared by the staff to explain proposed adjustments to prior year appropriations recommended by the JBC to the rest of the General Assembly.  This narrative describes all of the proposed budget changes statewide, by department, and by program, and provides detailed calculations of the spending and revenue limits.  This explanation does not reflect any subsequent changes to the Supplemental Bills as they are amended by the Senate or House of Representatives.

2023 Pension Review Commission and Subcommittee Final Report

Submitted herewith is the final report of the Pension Review Commission. This commission was created pursuant to Article 51.1 of Title 24, Colorado Revised Statutes. The purpose of the commission is to study and review the two major pension plans in the state – the Fire and Police Pension Association (FPPA) for police officers and firefighters employed by local governments and the Public Employees' Retirement Association (PERA) pension for state and local government employees – in order to propose legislation and to report back to the legislature and general public.
