Accessibility

Entrance

The accessible public entrance to the capitol can be accessed from 14th and Sherman avenues, through the ground-level door on the east side of the building.

Interpretation

Aira is an on-demand visual interpretation service for people who are blind or have low vision. The Aira app uses your smartphone camera to stream secure, live video to a professionally trained agent who visually interprets what is shared, from describing and reading to explaining and navigating, safely and securely.

Aira services are available 24/7 and can be used for free in 30-minute sessions when navigating state-operated buildings or digital services.

Parking

A limited number of parking spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis in the Capitol circle for visitors with disabled parking permits. Enter at 14th and Sherman and notify the Colorado State Patrol at the entrance to use these spots. Disability placards or license plates are required. Accessible parking is also available on Sherman Street, on the east side of the street, at 14th Avenue. Please call the Colorado State Patrol’s Executive Security Branch for more information at 303-866-3660.

Cafeteria

The cafeteria is located on the ground floor on the north side of the building. It is temporarily closed for renovations; however, vending machines are available.
